Getting started

How do I start using SparkRecall?

Text "Hi" to SparkRecall on WhatsApp — 00353 87 462 8954. That's it. No app to download, no forms to fill in first. You just go to Shopify, purchase and get going.

What happens after I text "Hi"?

SparkRecall replies right there in the chat and walks you through saving your first note. From then on you just message it whenever you want to save or recall something — same chat, no new habits to learn.

Do I need to create an account?

You will need to pay via Shopify — if you already have an account there, you can use that. Your notes are linked to your WhatsApp number and email address automatically, and there is no account to create with SparkRecall. If you'd ever like to manage or export your data from a browser, you can set that up with an email address (see "Managing your data" below).

How saving & recall works, day-to-day

How do I save a note about someone?

Just message SparkRecall like you're texting a friend — "Sarah from the gym, two kids, birthday in March." There's no format to learn; plain, natural sentences work fine.

How do I get a note back?

Message ?name or ?detail and SparkRecall finds and groups notes by association — the same way your own memory would. You don't need to remember exact wording or dates. Or for chunks, message ?#chunkname.

Can I save more than one thing about the same person?

Yes — keep adding everything you deem as important or handy at any time. They build up under that person, so the picture gets richer the more you use it.

Does SparkRecall use AI to write or guess things for me?

No. It's built to store and hand back your own notes — not to generate content or make assumptions on your behalf.

Privacy & data

What does SparkRecall store?

The notes you write, plus basic account details — name, email, username — if you set one up. Passwords are always stored encrypted. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Is SparkRecall GDPR-compliant?

Yes. SparkRecall Limited is incorporated in Ireland and complies with the GDPR, the Irish Data Protection Act 2018, and UK GDPR for users accessing the platform from the UK.

Is there anything I shouldn't save in SparkRecall?

Yes — please don't store sensitive personal data, about yourself or anyone else. Especially banking or credit card details or passwords. SparkRecall isn't designed to hold this kind of data.

Managing or deleting your data

Can I delete a note?

Ask SparkRecall directly in WhatsApp to remove a specific note, or email us and we'll clear anything you point to.

How do I delete my account entirely?

Email team@sparkrecall.com and we'll delete your account and everything linked to it.

Can I get a copy of my data?

Yes — email us to request a full export of everything stored under your account. That's your right under GDPR.

Troubleshooting

I texted "Hi" and got no reply.

Give it a minute — WhatsApp delivery can lag. If nothing comes back, double-check you messaged 00353 87 462 8954 and try again.

A note I saved isn't coming back when I search for it.

Try another word or detail linked to that person — a name, a place, an event. If it's still not turning up, email us with what you originally saved and we'll look into it.

SparkRecall mixed up two people, or the recall was wrong.

Reply and correct it directly in the chat. If it keeps happening, let us know — it helps us fix it faster.
